Marcus is a classical saxophonist, educator and composer currently based in Groningen, The Netherlands. He is a versatile musician with a love for many different types of music, on top of being a passionate advocate for the saxophone.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Marcus completed his bachelor degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of acclaimed Australian saxophonist, Dr Michael Duke.

Following his bachelor studies, Marcus graduated with a master’s degree from Prince Claus Conservatoire, Groningen (NL), studying under renowned Dutch saxophonist Femke IJlstra.

 Marcus has a particular interest in chamber music, education, composer-performer collaboration and the development of the repertoire for the classical saxophone. His main musical goal is the promotion of the expressive and technical capabilities of the saxophone.
